Method and calculation

The lookup first identifies the printed kilogram and centimeter rows. When they differ, it uses the one higher in the table. Standard type I keeps that base row, type II moves down one and type III moves down two. For the supported adult population, age 50 or older then moves up one row. The trace shows each stage rather than hiding the selection behind a single answer.

The stamped boot sole length selects a millimeter column. If the final row and column intersect at a blank cell, the manual directs the reader to the nearest populated cell on the same row. The result identifies that fallback explicitly. It never interpolates between cells or changes the skier row just to find a number.

The model uses the printed metric bands consistently after unit conversion. A value between closed printed bands is unsupported because no measurement-rounding instruction was verified in this procedure. Age and stamped BSL must be whole numbers. The manufacturer’s worked example

MARKER’s example uses 170 lb, 170 cm, type III, age 55 and BSL 320 mm. The initial row is K, the type adjustment reaches M, and the age adjustment reaches L. At the 311–330 mm column, the initial indicator reference is 6. This is an independently checked source example. Its presence does not authorize setting either binding indicator to 6 without the physical procedure and measured release checks.

An adult age boundary

For 75 kg, 170 cm, type I and BSL 320 mm, age 49 retains row K and gives a starting reference of 5. At age 50, the adult age adjustment moves the lookup to J and the reference is 4. The calculator records this table transition explicitly. It is not predicting a sudden biological change on a birthday, and it cannot decide whether a particular skier needs any discretionary procedure.

A measurement between printed bands

A weight of 78.5 kg lies between the printed 67–78 and 79–94 kg bands. This calculator returns no supported reference for that measurement rather than silently rounding it to 79 or down to 78. The user should ask a technician to resolve the source boundary. Retaining that limitation is preferable to producing a plausible-looking number whose row selection cannot be justified by the verified procedure.

Can I use this number to set my bindings?

Is skier type the same as beginner or expert ability?

Why are children excluded?

Does a matching shop number prove the binding is safe?
